Robotic Surgery Helped Girl to Recover

A robotic surgery helped a girl in Tanzanian to recover from damaged bladder. Ashura Ibrahim was admitted to Apollo hospital after meeting with an accident in which her bladder was crushed. She is just seven years old and is all thankful to the robot for saving her life.

It has come to light that Ashura had an accident a year ago which left her bladder extremely damaged. Till now, she had been urinating through a pipe, medically attached to her bladder. The year had been a painful and traumatic one for the family members of Ashura.

The doctors at Apollo had been trying hard to repair the damaged bladder but in vain. However, a week ago, a surgeon named V. Sripathi gave an option of complex robotic surgery for repairing the damaged bladder.

His option was accepted by the parents of the girl and thus she was operated for complex robotic surgery. Dr. Sripathi was reported saying, “We ruled out open surgery to cease urine reflux… while a laparoscopy would have been unusually complicated because the ureteral opening was very low”.

The surgery was successful and the girl has been gifted a new life by the robotic surgery. She would be going back to home soon with her family.
