Issues have been raised on the safety of electric fans among people, who completely rely on them and are not in the favor of using air conditioners. However, the topic is such that it would require a lot of discussion and same has been said by Katie Carmichael, from the Health Protection Agency (HPA).

Katie said, "The main implication of this review is that quality research is needed to resolve the ongoing uncertainty about the benefits and harms of using electric fans during heat waves”.

The allegation trusted electric fan was levied by an international nonprofit research group, known as the Cochrane Collaboration, informed Katie. Virginia Murray, who is heading the Extreme Events and Health Protection department in the HPA, was of the view that assessment was being done for the sake of people, in order to ensure their safety.

Virginia said that this year, heat has broken all the previous records, and she was of the view that electric fans might not be able to tackle the rising temperature. She further affirmed that they are having some concerns, and one of them being that electric fan will enhance the heat quotient rather than providing any respite from the same.
