Woman Advised Abortion; Gives Birth to Healthy Baby

Bizarre news, doctor misdiagnosis scan of a pregnant woman, advises her to abort the child. Carrie Chilvers underwent scanning test, when she was 12 weeks pregnant at Colchester General Hospital. The 28-year- old of Wickham Road, Colchester, was shocked to hear from the doctor that there minor chances that the baby would survive and even if it does, then it won’t be normal and will be disabled.

Moreover, she was acknowledged by the doctor that her baby might be having Down’s syndrome, Turner Syndrome or a chromosome deficiency.

Carrie said, “They gave me no help or information. It was the worst five weeks of my life. It was like having a time-bomb ticking, knowing the baby’s heart might just stop”.

However, Carrie admitted that even after being afraid, she didn’t lose hope and started off with her own research. She discussed her matter with someone, who recommended her Prof Khaled Khaled.

It was almost five weeks after that she again had a scan. But to Carrie’s surprise Prof Khaled informed her that everything was in control and the baby was even all right.

Moreover, even Prof Khaled understood that his colleague had made a major mistake. However, the hospital apologized for the error. On January 11, Carrie gave birth to Elizabeth, who was a normal healthy baby weighing 5lbs 4oz.
