Researchers Blame Paternal Qualifications for Birth Defects

If researcher's new findings are to be believed then pay better attention while choosing a profession for yourself as your choice could affect your offspring's health.

Yes, researchers have revealed from their recent study that a dad's profession has a big effect upon it's offspring's health especially children of men, who are involved in jobs like artists, photographers, and mathematicians because they are at higher risk of getting affected from birth defects.

The findings have come from the researchers at the University of North Carolina. Prior releasing the above astonishing facts, researchers looked into data of the US National Birth Defects Prevention Study. They noticed offspring with paternal occupations of artists, photographers, hairdressers, mathematicians and office support workers at higher risks of birth defects.

The Daily Mail also reported in its issue about the comparison results made by the researchers. On comparing career histories of 1,000 fathers, whose children had one or more birth defects (born between 1997 and 2004) with other 4,000 men, whose kids were absolutely normal without any congenital abnormalities, researchers found that two-thirds of the men in group, who were working as architects and designers, healthcare professionals, dentists, firefighters, fishermen, entertainers, stonemasons, painters, train drivers, soldiers and commercial divers etc had a child with a birth defect.
