Take in foods rich in Vitamin E as much as possible, suggests a team of researchers from the Nashville's Vanderbilt University Epidemiology Centre, as per a recent report, following the findings that the same cuts liver cancer risks.
An increase in the number of liver cancer cases was noted by the team. Concerning the huge rise over years, a study had been conducted, which was focused to look at impact of vitamin E on the cancer risks. And the same has led it to conclude that not only self-reporting people, but those without self-reported disease as well were realizing the same difference with vitamin E supplements.
The review was carried out on 267 liver cancer patients, all of whom were diagnosed some two years back or a bit later. Comparing their levels of intakes of vitamin E, the team found that the risks of cancer reduced in all those taking good content of the same.
The study covered in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute has shown that the effects are regardless of the vitamin source.
Professor Xiao Ou Shu says, "Overall, the take home message is that high intake of Vitamin E either from diet or supplements was related to lower risk of liver cancer in middle-aged or older people in China".
