In an attempt to expand, Nestlé SA has eyed “brain health products” now. On the same lines, Nestlé SA is reported to be buying a stake in Brookfield, Colo based Accera, which is into making milkshakes for Alzheimer's patients. However, value of the deal is yet to be unveiled.

If reports are to be believed, than this move is strategically very strong, though financially, it might not hold much value. "The significance of this is not the size of the investment, but the fact that it is our first step in developing our brain health ..”, said the company, which is known for its products like Kit Kat chocolate bars and Nescafe coffee.

Apart from this, the company is all set to make huge leaps in the field of nutritional food product with the help of research and acquisitions so that it can make its presence felt in a big manner. It is believed that deal would be able to give Luis Cantarell, president and CEO of Nestle Health Science SA, a wholly owned subsidiary, a place on Accera's newly expanded board of directors.

Nestle would be doing all to share their expertise and guidance to Accera, which has been involved in clinical trials after some medical experts raised questions on the effectiveness of the milkshake.
