The same had been backed by Dr. Samantha Thomas, who was speaking at the annual Castan Centre for Human Rights Law Conference in Melbourne. He was of the view that fight against obesity must be dealt with on huge level instead of blaming the sufferer.

"It is easy to say 'I do the right thing, why don't they?', but for some people, for a variety of reasons, it is very hard to make the right decisions. We really need to create a healthy environment to help people do that”, she said, while asserting that this issue must be fought like that of war on smoking, tobacco etc.

The way junk food is being marketed, it’s very easy for young kids to get attracted to them, thereby making them more susceptible to unhealthy food. It had become highly impetrative that instead of targeting kids, efforts are being made to bring the culprit companies in front, and same goes for parents as well, who are equally to be questioned.
