Guess who’s making a guest appearance in “Parks and Recreation”- Real-life political figures! It was reported that three sitting senators Barbara Boxer of California, John McCain of Arizona and Olympia J. Snowe of Maine would star as guests in an upcoming episode of the NBC comedy.

Senator McCain posted a picture on twitter with Poehler, saying "Had a great time shooting @ParksandRecNBC today w/ Amy Poehler - I think it's an Emmy!” The three senators filmed a cocktail party scene on Thursday, 19 July with Amy Poehler and Adam Scott at the Hay-Adams Hotel in Washington. The plot of the episode is set in Washington, where Leslie Knope (Poehler) visits Ben (Scott) who moved to Washington to join the staff of a congressman in the finale’s last season. Leslie will be introduced by Ben to the senators at the party, she has just won the Pawnee’s City Council election.

Talking about the episode, executive producer Michael Schur said, Leslie who is now a city council member, it’s an opportunity for her to consider whether she wants to go to the next level of American politics. The episode with the senators is scheduled to air on September 27.
