During a recent International AIDS Conference, emphasis was laid over the use of scientific methods to fight AIDS. It has come to light that Bill Gates is planning to make more funds available to the scientists so that AIDS could be defeated scientifically.
During an interview, Bill Gates said, "Without much better tools it is not at all realistic to think you can end this epidemic. It's just not realistic". He said that a patient with AIDS definitely needs medication to treat it. However, he further said that scientific tools are also needed to make sure that AIDS is not transmitted to others. AIDS is transmitted to others through either sexual intercourse or by the use of infected needle.
During the International AIDS Conference, Bill Gates said that efforts are required to be put towards developing AIDS prevention tools. Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation have come forward to provide funding of $2.5 billion as a form of HIV grants to worldwide organizations. Besides, another funding of $1.4 billion would also be given to Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. It is hoped that the funding would help organizations to fight AIDS and Tuberculosis and Malaria.
