Team Anna Continues with the Hard Battle; Media Turns to Negative Reporting

Team Anna continued its campaign for the Jan Lokpal Bill and the movement is gathering momentum. However, the media has tried to project the whole issue against Team Anna.

If the reporting for the past several weeks is to be noticed carefully, there is certainly a shift in the attitude of media persons reporting the moves of members of Team Anna. The members of Team Anna, who received decent support from media in the past, are now getting negative publicity.

The reports have come that Team Anna could not gather much of people at Jantar Mantar. Once Baba Ramdev reached the venue, the number of people joining the movement swelled. Team Anna supporters were also reported to have attacked media persons in New Delhi today.

Baba Ramdev is also planning a protest from 9 August at Ramlila Maidan against black money. The media is now projecting Team Anna’s movement as a failure and showing support for Baba Ramdev. It is quite possible that Media outlets in India are under pressure of UPA government.

Congress leaders criticized Anna Hazare and other members of Team Anna. It would be better if the UPA government and honorable members of Parliament pass the Lokpal Bill and take action against corruption at different levels in most of the government controlled departments.
