55-year-old David Myers and 45-year-old Simon King - the co-creators successful food-travelogue series 'The Hairy Bikers' - have revealed that they have quit life in the fat lane after discovering that they had become `too big' to fit into designer suits.

After touring the country by motorbike and salivating over innumerable calorie-rich meals cooked for the amusement of their TV fans, the Hairy Biker TV chefs have recently disclosed that their craving for food had not only made them physically unhealthy, but also too fat for designer suits.

However, with Myers and King having decided to quit life in the fat lane, a new TV show - The Hairy Dieters: How To Love Food and Lose Weight BBC2 series, which will begin on Thursday - will witness the pair trying to fulfill their pledge of losing three stone each through serious dieting, weigh-ins and strict conversations with medical experts.

In fact, ever since the filming of the `Hairy Dieters' show began on April 9, the 6ft tall Myers and 6ft-2in tall King - who started the show with their respective 17st 12lbs and 19st 6lb weight - have already lost more than six stone between them.

Noting that their weight-loss mission was essentially driven by vanity, health fears, and `a new TV show' idea, Myers said that the "tipping point" came in late 2011, when he and King were prescribed statins for keeping their cholesterol levels in check; and fashion designer Paul Smith said that both of them were `too fat' to wear his designer suits!
