Good news is coming from New Zealand, the city which is reporting a recorded high number of women breast feeding their new born babies in last twenty years.
Above figures have been released by Plunket and are clearly showing a higher number of women participating in breast feeding their children concerning that the feed will help them gain additional benefits than all.
Plunket has a contribution of almost 90% babies to the list of children born in New Zealand every year. Released figures have shown that 85% Plunket babies up to the age of six weeks are getting their mother’s breastfeed. The number has increase by five percent from the last year’s figures.
The news comes in with a big celebration as next week approaching is World Breastfeeding week. Plunket clinical advisor Ms. Marianne Grant said that New Zealand has got a big news this time.
"Breastfeeding rates in New Zealand are definitely improving. Currently 85 per cent of babies up to the age of six weeks are getting some breast milk, a 5 per cent increase over the last 10 years. That may not sound all that big but it represents a significant number of babies", she said.
She added that the new figures confirm a good nutrition add-on to the New Zealand's most vulnerable generation.
