Second Attempt of Russian Cargo Spacecraft Finally Succeeds

NASA has revealed about an unmanned Russian cargo ship in its latest statement, which it says has parked itself successfully at the International Space Station on July 28 night in an effort to second time test the updated space docking system of the station.

The efforts were made to primarily make a check over the new Kurs-NA docking system of the station. With the similar aim, the robotic Russian Progress 47 spacecraft re-docked the space station and safely attached it automatically to the Pirs docking compartment on the Russian segment of the massive orbiting laboratory.

The docking was done at around 9:01 p. m. ET (0101 GMT July 29). The successful docking results positive for Russia, which is working over projects of using the Kurs-NA docking system on every of its future unmanned Progress spacecraft and manned Soyuz vehicles too.

The first attempt failed four days ago, on July 23 as a technical glitch could not attach the spacecraft to the orbiting outpost. Following the efforts, the Progress 47's onboard computers distanced the craft at a safe position from the station in the meantime Russian engineers were analyzing the cause of failure.

All the cargo has been shifted from the spacecraft and the garbage is being downloaded. It will be released soon for earth.
