Curiosity to Reach Mars in Next 8 days

It was scheduled nine months ago that NASA’s Mars Science Laboratory also known as Curiosity has to adjust its flight-path. Due to some or the other reason, the spacecraft was unable to do the same, but it was now that the adjustment was being done

Only eight days were left for the spacecraft to reach at the Mars, and the adjustment procedure was being carried out. Experts said that the adjustment seems to be the last mandatory step, before they landed on the Mars.

After the rover reaches at the Mars, their main aim will be to check life on the Mars and to gather evidences for the same. Experts said that they have been taking care that the rover reaches at its destination safely.

Explaining the same, Tomas Martin-Mur, from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, was of the view, “We will be monitoring the trajectory using the antennas of the Deep Space Network to be sure Curiosity is staying on the right path for a successful entry”.

Mike Watkins, who is the manager of the Mars Science Lab, said that the mars project holds great importance for them, and they do not mind calling it to be the golden age for the mars exploration.
