Recent reports suggest that China has bagged another success to its part, with the launch of its Tianlian I-03 satellite on Wednesday. It has been reported that the satellite was launched from Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Sichuan province. Not only this, with the successful launch of this satellite, the country has been able to achieve another accolade by completion of country's first data relay satellite network system.
It has been recovered that the satellite was launched using a rocket a carrier Long March-3C at 11:43 p. m. Beijing Time.
Detailed reports suggest in order to develop the satellite China Academy of Space Technology worked under the guidance of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. China has already launched two other satellites previously, which are a part of the network. The satellite will be joining both of them to complete the grid.
However, it will be joining only after it successfully carries out the in-orbit validation and system coordination procedures. The other two satellites were launched in April 2008 and the other one was launched in July 2011.
The center said, “The third satellite is expected to improve the network's coverage in providing measurement and control services for China's manned spacecraft as well as the planned construction of future space labs”.
