Olympic Athletes Need To Watch Out Their Diet
While Olympics have begun, one must wonder what these athletes might be eating to get to their best performance. They do have their diet chart to make sure that they maintain a specific level of energy. One factor which not even one athlete irrespective of the sport they compete in, would have to ensure is their weight. They need to make sure that their body weight doesn’t affect their stamina.
One an average, they are required to have between 33 600kj and 42 000kj a day in comparison to 8400kj to 10 080kj a day of a normal man, as per the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. "There is a huge range of different needs, depending on the event and how much speed, endurance and strength the athlete needs”, said Dr. Christine Gerbstadt, a registered dietician and anaesthesiologist in Gaithersburg, Md.
It’s not just about balanced eating but it has to be make sure that they do eat right nutrients to heal and further strengthen their muscles for the coming competitions. Furthermore, they need to keep a check on their fluid intake too. Drinking way too much or way below can make things difficult for them.
With the games going on and competition getting fiercer, it’s really required that athletes make sure that they don’t mess up with their diet at any point.
