It has been revealed in a recent report published in The Wall Street Journal that Boeing and SpaceX are being expected to get a huge amount of $1 billion as an award for their untiring efforts. According to the report, the Kennedy Space Center in Florida would most probably see NASA announcing the award on Friday.
The report finds that the award is most likely to be given to Boeing Co. and Space Exploration Technologies Corp. as they have promoted commercially-owned and operated vehicles that have helped crews travel to and from the International Space Station. Also, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration have boosted space taxis, the report says.
NASA is also to announce agreements for its initiative dubbed Commercial Crew integrated Capability (CCiCap) made with industry partners.
Since, the agency is aimed at inspiring the private sector to make steps forward to the development of human spaceflight and prove its capabilities. Another reason is the belief that it would increase services of commercial human spaceflight for commercial and government customers.
Nearly at 9 a. m. EDT, the same would be seen happening. Also, a follow-up teleconference will be held the same day by NASA, which is for media representatives.
