Split in Californians over Fracking

Not all Californians are supporting the oil extraction method called hydraulic fracturing that is being run in the city to extract oils, shows a new statewide poll.

The findings of the poll are suggesting that Californians are split regarding the issue and the method hydraulic fracturing stands on a controversial side.

The survey was run by the Public Policy Institute of California. It released the results of the survey on Wednesday in which claimed that the findings are the comparison of the statements that were received during the survey from all the residents.

They cleared that most of the residents were aware about the procedure and it was commonly known as "fracking" among all. Under this procedure, officials basically inject chemical-laced water and sand deep into the ground and extract oil.

During polling, officials heard contradicting remarks from the residents with 42% supporting the oil extraction procedure in the state whereas 46% opposed it.

The issue breaks along partisan and regional lines as well with 65% majorities of California Democrats, 56% voters living in Los Angeles and 51% Bay Area residents opposing fracking. On the other hand, 64% of Majorities of Republicans, 51% voters living in the Central Valley and 51% in other parts of Southern California lent their support to same.
