Many times it has been found that parents of infants take the help of search engines like Google to know the healthy products for the kids. However, most of the time, the products endorsed on Google are fake.

It has been found that mostly parents search for the keywords like infants’ sleeping position, infant cigarette smoke. A study was conducted, in which 1,300websites were examined. It was found that only 43.5% of the websites provide accurate information.

Besides, about 39.2% websites provided misleading or inaccurate information. Dr. Rachel Moon from Children's National Medical Center was reported as saying, “It is important for health care providers to realise the extent to which parents may turn to the Internet for … reliability of the source”.

Researchers studying the reliability of the websites noted that government websites provide accurate information to the readers. For example, there are few websites which claim that sleeping with infants is safe. However according to the government’s guidelines sleeping with infants can even lead to premature and sudden death of the children. It is hoped that the people will take serious note of the findings. Parents should search on Google carefully.
