There seems to be outbreak of syphilis in Queensland and therefore all the residents who are suffering from sniffles this winter are urged to get themselves checked. There is a possibility of a much vicious viral to them.

Till now, this outbreak has been reported in the northwest area of Queensland but very soon it seems to spread to other areas as well. Therefore, the health officials have strictly warned people to stay cautious and highly alert about the symptoms as this way only the disease and its outbreak could be prevented.

As said by Dr. Arun Menon, who is a sexual health specialist in Mount Isa, it becomes quite difficult for an individual to diagnose this virus, because when it hits, it feels like a common cold or the flu. Then later, an ulcer arises on some part of the body, which if not healed immediately, further spreads the syphilis bacteria to every other organ.

Dr. Menon told AAP on Wednesday "It goes absolutely everywhere".

It takes weeks and sometimes months to get out of this disease. It’s a long-lasting illness that makes a person internally weak.

According to Dr. Menon, Syphilis sometimes causes long-term complications too in which, the eye, ear, teeth, heart and brain of an individual suffers from different problems. It is fatal for the unborn babies too.
