A lot many studies came across Dr. Andrew Barron of Macquarie University and Dr. Mark Brown from Royal Holloway University, about gay and lesbian behavior getting common among animals.

Both the researchers then decided to study the matter in detail, and shortlisted 11 research papers, which have concluded that gay and lesbian behavior has been seen among animals. They then investigated media coverage, which these research papers have received and selected 48 press reports for the same.

After assessing the collected data, the study researchers reached at a conclusion, "Gay and lesbianism is more than same-sex copulation in humans. Let's not turn this animal behavior into something that it isn't”.

Barron said that there are many times when animals do not indulge in sexual intercourse and just spend their time together, irrespective of being same gender. This simple reason cannot be termed as a reason for animals turning gays and lesbians. It would be better than such tags remain secured for human community alone, stressed Barron.

He further affirmed that such claims are doing nothing, but throwing a negative effect, as there are chances that there could be some genetic malfunctions, which do not let them to indulge in sexual activities.
