Scientists in the United States have become extremely worried after realizing the hottest summer in July this year, a recent report reveals.
The ‘National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’ has reported that the temperature was at 77.6 degrees the previous month. Also, it has been told that the same was 3.3 degrees higher than ever in the 20th-century.
NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies’s head James E. Hansen has thus been highlighting the need for immediate address of the issue. As per the findings, he has been expecting President Obama along with Mitt Romney to participate and suggest some steps to be followed.
It is being said that while the disastrous events cannot be directly connected with climatic conditions, the major contribution seems to be by the changes only. “Our analysis shows that, for the extreme hot weather of the recent past, there is virtually no explanation other than climate change”, says Hansen.
As per the report, he had previously also alerted Congress in 1988 that the consequences of climate change at the time could worsen in the future. And he says that time has come i. e. the future. He has thus been warning that the weather events now are short-term though. These may be seen as long-term climate trends after some decades or centuries if not addressed now.
