Google Commences Attacking Piracy Websites

Music and film industries along with owners of many other websites must be relieved as Google is now to begin with the work of addressing copyright infringement issues, as revealed in a recent report.

It has been told by Google’s head of engineering Amit Singhal that their step to re-boot their copyright removals has led them receive a huge count of copyright removal notices over time. Not only have they received an expanded data related to infringing content online, but more cases are now being taken into consideration and are being processed as well.

The number of notices in the last 30 days alone is above 4.3 million URLs, which is even higher than that in 2009, he added. Thus, it has been decided, the report finds, that the websites charged of piracy would from now on be listed lower in search results.

“The fact that certain websites are subject to very high numbers of notifications, because they feature a large amount of illegal content, should be reflected in lower search rankings”, according to chief executive Geoff Taylor.

Though, Google has been highly criticized for years to let appear rogue websites on top. The move taken now is being appreciated by one and all.
