Researchers Find Associated Risks of Developing Kidney Failure

Kidney failure is on the rise and unfortunately affecting approximately 2 million people today around the world. Terrible is the fact that the symptoms of the failure occur only when it reaches its later stages where saving a life from the failure becomes a tough job for the medical professionals.

But a little hope is seen from researcher’s recent findings of a study, in which they claim they have found the likelihood of middle-aged adults developing kidney failure during their lifetime.

Pick up the data of the health authorities and you will know that one in every 40 men and 60 women (all belonging to middle aged group) develops kidney failure if they live into their 90s. The risks calculate to 2.66% for men and
1.76% for women.

Moreover, they are higher in patients with reduced kidney function as compared to the ones living with preserved kidney function. Such risks are 7.51% among men and 3.21% among women.

Reports submitted by the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology say that the kidney failure has become a major cause of poor health in maximum number of patients and so is also generating considerable health care costs to the medical industry.
