FDA has recently warned against the use of two supplements, which were proposed to be treatments for a number of ailments related to bones, including arthritis, muscle pain, osteoporosis, bone cancer, and a few other conditions.

FDA affirmed that both the natural dietary supplements, Reumofan and Reumofan Plus have been prepared suing certain constituents, which pose risk s to the health. Moreover, the agency asserted that the ingredients have not been mentioned.

Agency stated that the lab results of the products confirm the presence of drugs, which can lead to fatal consequences. Drugs like, Diclofenac sodium and methocarbamol were reported to be present in the samples of the supplement Reumofan Plus.

FDA issued the first warning against the supplements in the month of June. It suggests that since then, there have been a huge number of consumers, who have approached them with major concerns and fatal consequences of the supplements.

Sarah Clark-Lynn, an FDA spokesperson said, “The FDA has received dozens of additional adverse event reports, including death and stroke, liver injury, severe bleeding, sudden worsening of glucose control, associated with the use of Reumofan Plus”.

Clark-Lynn added that the supplement has also been linked with weight gain, swelling.
