£5,000 reward announced to catch Kimberley attack culprits

A £5,000 reward has been announced for anyone who helps catch four burglars who knocked down and robbed a grandmother-of-three on August 25.

The 64-year-old victim, Balwinder Dhami, was in her bungalow in Bassett Close, Kimberley, when a gang of four forced its way into her bungalow, held a knife to her throat, and continually punched her. One of them sprayed her face with cleaning solution.

The fifteen-minute robbery took place at around 19:50 BST.

Steve Wragg, detective sergeant who is leading the probe, has urged people to help police catch the culprits, before they strike again.

Urging people to help, Wragg said, "This was a terrifying ordeal for the victim, who has subsequently suffered a heart attack and is very seriously ill in hospital."

Five days after the robbery, on August 30, Mrs. Dhami suffered a heart attack. She had to undergo an operation, after which she was put on a heart support machine. But, she then developed an infection and doctors took her off the heart support machine.

She now needs a second heart operation.

The culprits are described as white, aged between 18 and 21 years, with three having short hair.
