People Affected by 9/11 Terror Attack to be Offered Improved Medical Aids

The terror attack of 9\11 left many with life threatening diseases. The authorities have decided to provide good funding for these people. Recently, the National Institute for Occupational Safety brought to light that about 50 types of cancer have affected the lives of those who helped the US in overcoming the terror attack.

The authorities, with the aim of providing medical facility to the people, have decided to increase the funding. The funding will be made in such a manner so that the cancer patients could be treated. The earlier funding only covered patients with less-serious ailments. However, this year, the authorities are taking up the responsibility of seriously ill people as well.

Studies have showed the collapse of the World Trade Center released certain dust and toxic chemicals in the air. These pollutants, when inhaled, caused cancer and other non-serious diseases.

While supporting the extension of funding, Sen. Chuck Schumer said, “The issue of funding should not affect decisions on the merits, and if the funds end up being insufficient, we will push Congress to provide more funds for all who deserve them”. It is hoped that the funding will help people in recovering from the disaster.
