Recent Milestone Vaccine for Preventing Dengue but not Ideal

Dengue fever, which is known as the “break-bone fever” and is increasing worldwide with a fast pace can now might be prevented using a vaccine.

Though the researchers are not sure about its progress, they are claiming it to be an effective one in the global fight against this lethal illness. The symptoms of dengue include fever, severe joint pain, headache and bleeding. It is generally known as a mosquito-borne disease and has no specific treatment yet.

Every year, around 100 million people get affected by this viral all around the world. The countries that are at higher risk are mostly in Asia, Africa and Latin America.

As said by Orin Levine, a professor at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, “The research provides the first evidence we could actually develop an effective vaccine against dengue". This new vaccination has been produced and developed by Sanofi Aventis SA.

To get more information about the impact and effectiveness of this vaccine, the trial has been made onto 30,000 people by now but the results are still awaited. Prior to this vaccine, a number of other vaccines have been introduced in the market, but Sanofi's one is the utmost one.
