Company Recalls Cantaloupes

Routine testing has revealed salmonella contamination in cantaloupes and so has been a recall announced immediately by the California Company to avoid any harm to lives.

According to reports, Fresno-based DFI Marketing Inc. has recently issued the recall over cantaloupes sent in several states, including Colorado, after a routine test confirmed possible salmonella contamination over a single sample of the product.

Revealing about the possible contaminated packaging, the U. S. Food and Drug Administration said that 28,000 cartons of bulk-packed product could be affected. The affected product was packed on Aug. 26 and possibilities are higher that the packaging was distributed from Aug. 27 to Sept. 10.

The authority has urged people to stay cautious of the contaminated product and avoid using same, in almost two dozen states including Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin and Mexico too.

The company has yet not responded to the phone message that was left by The Associated Press on Sunday regarding the issue. Fortunately, no illnesses have been reported yet. Health experts explained that the bacteria can cause diarrhea, nausea, fever and abdominal cramps. If any person notices the symptoms, get them checked immediately from the doctor.

Moreover, officials have also advised people to return the bought cantaloupes to the shops from where they bought it for credit and not to eat them at all.
