West Nile Virus Spreading Mosquitoes Causing Havoc

It has been reported that the school authorities of the Tiveton High School are planning to reschedule the outdoor activities of the school over the fear of West Nile virus and Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE). The West Nile virus and EEE is spread through the bites of mosquitoes.

Usually, the West Nile virus and EEE affects animals, humans can also be adversely affected by the mosquito bites. The outdoor activities that were scheduled to take place somewhere in mid of October will be rescheduled.

The authorities are of the view that by taking these steps, the chances of a student being affected with the virus could be minimized. In Georgetown, a yet another human case of EEE has been reported. Till now, it is the fifth case.

The infected man is said to be in his 70s. The authorities have informed that the man’s health is crucial at the moment. Children, pregnant women and elders’ health could be at risk if they come in contact with the virus spreading mosquitoes. People have been advised to avoid coming in contact the mosquito bites. The health officials are doing their best to make sure that the innocent lives are prevented from West Nile virus and EEE.
