More Pregnant Women Getting Diagnosed with Cancer

As per a research published in the International Journal of Obstetics and Gynecology, it has been revealed that a significant rise in the number of cancer cases among pregnant and postpartum women has been noticed.

The Australian study is based on the assessment of more than 10-year-long data. After assessing the data, the study researchers have reached at a conclusion that 192 women per 100,000 women were being diagnosed with cancer in 2007. All the women were either pregnant or in postpartum stage.

The number was found to be quite high in comparison to 112 per 100,000 women being diagnosed with cancer in 1994. Researcher Christine Roberts, from the University of Sydney, was of the view that they are not completely sure about the reasons, which have bane causing cancer among pregnant and post-partum women.

However, it is considered that increased age maternal hood is thought to be one of the reasons. One of the other reasons can be that during pregnancy, health checkups get regular. Through which, problem of any sort gets revealed.

Though Roberts have talked about two probable reasons, he has also asserted that further research on the same matter is needed.
