Limiting Soda Drinks May Reduce Obesity

Not many people and especially New York City residents were happy when it was revealed that extra large soda drinks will not be allowed in restaurants and theaters. New Yorkers were so unhappy with the new ruling that they even called the state to be a nanny state.

They were asking the authorities concerned to take back the ban. However, two new studies being published in the New England Journal of Medicine has revealed that control on sugar laden fizzy drinks is an effective way to curb obesity.

It seems that these two studies will act as a new weapon in the hands of the authorities concerned, who have levied the ban. Though two new studies have favored on curbing the obesity, it has been found that the industry people have been saying that they do not agree to the study findings. Henceforth, they have denounced the research findings.

One of the studies was being taken out by a group of researchers at the Boston Children’s Hospital and the second study would be taken out by VU University Amsterdam. Both the studies have said that controlling the calories through soda is a great way to start losing fat.
