Foxconn China Plant temporarily Shut Down

Taiwan's Foxconn Technology Group has to temporarily shut down its China plant after a clash occurred in the company involving 2,000 workers.

The news is talking about the Foxconn Technology Group plant that runs business of assembling Apple's iPhones and making important components for top global electronics companies. There is news that the company’s plant in northern China was closed on Monday after approx 2,000 workers staged a riot at a company dormitory.

No confirmations are out yet over how long the shutdown will last. The issue has become a big concern for the company as the plant employs about 79,000 people in the Shanxi provincial capital.

Police and company officials are investigating the cause of the disturbance and soon some more facts can be uncovered.

"The plant is closed today for investigation," Foxconn spokesman Mr. Louis Woo told Reuters, but a company employee contacted by phone said the closure could last two or three days.

Following the news of plant’s closure, Hon Hai's Taipei-listed shares have noticed a fall of 1 percent on Monday in a broader market that rose 0.2 percent.
