Some dog treats under the brand name Boots & Barkley have been found contaminated with salmonella, a recent report has uncovered. A recall has thus been announced of all those treats that were sold by Target.

It has been found that all American Beef Bully Sticks, sold between April and September, are being voluntarily recalled. The recall has been issued by Denver-based Kasel Associated Industries.

Though, none of humans or pets has been detected as infected until now, the report says. It is being asked by the US Food and Drug Administration that pet owners should be aware of any kind of symptoms in their pets. Also, pets should be taken to a veterinarian in case they seem lethargic.

Besides, health experts have told that people, if infected, can suffer signs such as vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramping or even diarrhea. Thus, humans handling to treats are being warned to wash their hands in case they have come in contact.

It is being said that in some cases, the ignorance of such symptoms may also cause the bacteria to result in muscle pain, urinary tract or arterial infections-like severe conditions.

Colorado's Department of Agriculture had found the bug in four lot numbers, including BESTBY01JUN2014DEN, BESTBY20APR2014DEN, BESTBY23SEP2014DEN and BESTBY23JUN2014DEN. But, all lot numbers have been recalled so as to ensure safety.
