In order to reduce over medication, National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is being organized in association with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). It is said that a number of agencies will be taking part in the event, and one among them is Wetumpka Police Department.

The Wetumpka Police Department has announced that the event will be organized on Saturday from 10 a. m. to 2 p. m. The event, which is open for all will take place at the parking lot of the Walmart. Police officials have assured that no action will be taken against anyone, and people can freely come and drip the unused and expired drugs.

Celia Dixon, who is eth police chief of Wetumpka Police, was of the view the event has been organized for the safety of residents. He further affirmed that it is not the first time when the event is being organized, as last year as well the similar event was held.

“More than 50 law enforcement agencies at more than 70 collection sites participated. Here in Wetumpka, we collected more than 40 pounds of prescription drugs”, affirmed Dixon while telling that Alabama had maximum collection. This time also it is expected that people will come in large number.
