An Ill Mother Kills Her Child; NHS Trust and Health Workers too at Blame

It is difficult and shocking to believe that a mother can do such a horrible act to her own daughter. And it surprises more when the health workers fail to spot the illness of a patient.

Recently, an incident came into notice in which a mother stuffed bible pages into the mouth of her six-week-old daughter. Due to suffocation the child died. Partially it becomes the fault of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Trust also, as they failed to recognize the threat posed by this mother.

Julia Lovemore was suffering from bipolar affective disorder and she had "religious delusions". Due to this, in the year 2009, she smothered her daughter, Faith.

According to the trust, it is difficult to diagnose such a condition of a person until he or she comes over with any kind of symptoms. They can learn over this through experiences only.

However, the 41 year old Lovemore was in an indefinite custody under the mental health act in 2010. She was caught committing assassination on the grounds of diminished responsibility at Cambridge Crown Court.

As told to the court, the day when Lovemore killed her daughter, there were two health workers present at her house in The Rowans, Milton, near Cambridge.
