A team of scientists at the Belgian Institute for Space Aeronomy has discovered a much colder region in somewhere in the atmosphere of Venus, a recent report has shed light.

The team is little surprised as the planet is the closest to Sun and is known to be the hottest one in the solar system. But, it has announced at the same time that Venus is probably carrying 'snow' and the same is likely of carbon dioxide.

It is being said that the icy layer is chiller as compared to any other colder part in the atmosphere of Earth. The European Space Agency's Venus Express satellite has discovered the same after observations of the planet for around five years during the Venus Express project.

A light from the Sun sifted from the hottest planet’s atmosphere and the concentration of carbon dioxide gas molecules was in light. These were at different altitudes with the terminator.

"It is special as we do not see a similar temperature profile along the terminator in the atmospheres of Earth or Mars”, said scientist Håkan Svedhem.

The team says that the temperature on the layer125 km above the surface of the planet is 175 C. And it is likely that carbon dioxide freezes out there as snow for the reason that the atmosphere is frosty enough.
