ULA to implement apt actions to avoid potential glitches in future Delta rocket

United Launch Alliance (ULA) has said that it would thoroughly investigate the potential challenges in the upcoming launch of the U. S. military’s mini-shuttle spaceplane and employ proper actions.

ULA had discovered unanticipated propulsion glitch during the recent Delta IV rocket launch. Though the glitch didn’t prevent the Delta IV from delivering the U. S. Air Force’s GPS 2F series of navigation, positioning & timing satellites to the intended orbit, yet it raised questions about future launches of the satellites.

Jim Sponnick, Vice President of Mission at ULA, said the recent mission was a complete success, but admitted that there were challenges of launch and pledged to implement appropriate actions to make future launches a success.

ULA’s next mission, an Atlas V rocket, is scheduled to blast off from the United States’ Cape Canaveral Air Force Station on 25th of October. The upcoming mission aims to deliver the military’s Orbital Test Vehicle (OTV) to the orbit.

Beyond the planned October 25 mission, ULA will send up another Atlas V rocket to space on 13th of December, with a NASA Tracking & Data Relay Satellite.

The next Delta rocket launch, scheduled to lift off from Cape Canaveral on 18th of January, will carry a military communications satellite to the orbit.
