Researchers from the Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Monmouth County have been claiming that stink bugs are most probably now on the move as October has arrived, as per a latest report.
It is being said that these creatures await nighttime temperatures to fall off their summer highs as they need warmer places to stay in during winters. Therefore, possibilities are there that these might have or have been entering your houses.
The creepy and ugly bugs, which look akin to the pre-historic pests, were first discovered in the late 1990s in the US. Horticulturalist Diane Larson and colleagues have told that the bug is one of those few insects, which spend their winters as adults and not as larvae.
Also, they specialize in seeking a way to houses of people. However, there are no safety concerns, Larson has told, as these small bugs are not harmful, but just horrible. The team has told that these neither do anything, nor eat anything and even do not nest or reproduce when they are inside the house.
“No other pest we know of has that broad a range of what it will feed on”, said coordinator of Rutgers’ fruit Integrated Pest Management program Dean Polk.
