Decline in Mental Health-Related Stigma Witnessed

Two days are left in the World Mental Health Day, which is being observed on October 10, and news has been welcomed by one and all. As per recent reports, it has been revealed that people have been understanding mental health issues in a better way.

This understanding reflects when it comes to deal with the same in the workplace. The study has found that now less people take mental health problems as a stigma at work in the UK. If to talk about figures and statistics then it has been found that there has been a decline of 48% among people, who take mental illness as a shame.

Dr. Doug Wright, Medical Director for Aviva UK Health, said, “As very few employees say they would confide in their employer about a mental health condition, it's important that managers are able to spot the signs”.

It would not be wrong to say that the study has been unveiled at right time, as World Mental Health Day is approaching. This time, it has been decided that campaigns will be organized to raise awareness in regard to mental health issues. Not only this, open discussion on such issues also will be carried out.
