It has been reported that a large number of Jewish groups have filed a lawsuit to prevent the authorities in New York City to enforce rule over circumcision. While placing their plea, the Jewish group said that the rule will breach the religious freedom.

In the month of September, the regulators made it mandatory to have written parental consent before conducting the circumcision. It has come to light that the procedure is quite common among Jewish. In the procedure, the person performing the circumcision uses his mouth to remove blood from the incision.

It has been found that the procedure causes herpes, which has affected 11 babies from 2000 to 2011. Out of 11 children, two have succumbed to death. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has raised an alert against the procedure of circumcision.

Hank Sheinkopf, a spokesperson of Jewish group, said, “By essentially starting a public intimidation campaign … they are shaking the core of our democracy. We believe the courts will stop this overzealous government overreach and keep them out of our speech and religion”. Circumcision can have serious health complications and it is important to take precautions.
