A lot of buzz was going on about the journey of the US space shuttle Endeavour to its new home in Los Angeles. It is now that the shuttle has safely reached to its new home, but it could be said that the journey was not a smooth one.
It is said so, as the journey time was decided as two days, but trees in between the route delayed the journey by one more day. It is not that efforts were not being made to make sure that the shuttle has a smooth journey, as a lot of trees, traffic lights and power lines were being cleared. It is said that 400 trees on the highway were being cut.
In order to send the shuttle to new home, Endeavour was sent through a carrier, which was having 160 wheels and was being carried through remote control. Moreover, it is said that a lot of difficulties were being witnessed to make sure that the shuttle has a smooth journey.
One of the biggest difficulties was to cross a bride known as the Interstate 405, but it was able to cross the bridge. “Maybe someday one of these kids that see Endeavour, look up at it at the California Science Center, will be that person that walks on the planet Mars?" said Mark Kelly, who captained Endeavour's final flight when he talked about people who saw the shuttle passing over.
