Meningitis outbreak Continues in US

It seems that meningitis outbreak that has taken place in the US due to tainted drugs is getting complex with every passing day. It has been revealed that the death toll has increased to 16 and two more drugs have been suspected to be involved in increasing the problem.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has unveiled that they have been actively involved the investigation. They have found two more drugs that are being manufactured by New England Compounding Center (NECC), in Massachusetts, which may have infected more people.

In fact, the matter has become so serious that criminal investigators have been carrying out investigation to know more on the matter. Sara Clark-Lynn, who is a spokeswoman for the FDA, was of the view that they are aware about the involvement of the criminal investigators.

"During our thorough investigation, FDA has taken samples of compounded products, is reviewing the facility's compounding protocols”, affirmed Lynn.

Carmen Ortiz, who is the US Attorney for the district of Massachusetts, was of the view that investigation process is going on. Till the time, they are not able to reach at a conclusion, they cannot reveal the final verdict and it seems search will go on for some more timNews 14.
