Good news for Victorians, as it has been found that cancer care in the region is getting better with time. In a recently released report by the Cancer Council of Victoria, it has been found that survival rate of cancer patients under 15 years age group has touched the all time high, which 82%.

It seems that authorities concerned have done a lot of hard work to ensure that cancer survival rates among children improve. From 68% in 1982 to 82% in 2010 is a great achievement.

Cancer Council Victoria CEO Todd Harper was of the view that the figures are really encouraging. Moreover, it shows that they have been working hard. "We've actually able to detect many of these cancers early, which also has an impact on the prognosis by earlier detection and better treatment”, he affirmed.

While talking about the cancer rate, Harper affirmed that he has seen a lot of improvements in the survival rate of leukemia. Its survival rate in 1970s was just 405, but in 2010, it was more than 90%. Such changes and improvements show that they have been moving towards achieving their goal. It is now expected that further improvements will also be witnessed.
