Drivers Must Be Alert About Deer Collisions

A recent survey highlighted the likelihood of deer being hit by drivers in the month of November. As per the survey from State Farm Insurance, it has been claimed that about 8 in every 1,000 South Carolina drivers hit a deer last year, thereby showing the possibility of repeat of the same episode this time too.

If recent reports are to be believed, even a woman had lost her life after her motorcycle was hit by a deer, thereby indicating about the severity of Deer-related collisions in this month.

As per the latest data, the number of accidents has seen a rise of 7.7% from past year. In addition, there is damage of over $3,300 due to the same accidents.

Looking at the severity of such cases, next week would be celebrated as 'Give Wildlife a Brake', during which, drivers would be requested to drive a bit slow so that such collisions can be avoided in the first place. By taking small pre-emptive measures, a lot can be improved, both for humans as well as animal life.

It is believed that maximum collisions happen at dawn and dust as commuters are on move and so are deer, thus it's required that all possible measures are being taken to address the rising concern.
