Children are often found excited about trying new things and curious about knowing new things. But, this nature of them often also puts them at risk since they tend to consume small things, without knowing what it is. Sometimes, these trivial things may include medicines, which without a doubt, would be harmful for them.
Therefore, the US `Food and Drug Administration' has come up with warnings that even though, nasal decongestant sprays and eye drops are useful drugs. Their use without prescription from clinicians can be fatal.
Almost 96 cases were identified by the regulatory group, all of which were of children of ages 1 month to 5 years, who had consumed the medicinal products. The incidents had happened before they had turned 5 years in age.
It is being said that however, deaths have not been seen amid them, but they accidentally put themselves at suffering from serious illnesses. While sometimes, they fall sleepy, some of the children have ended up going in comas.
