Apple launched its iPad mini on October 23 and the same very day, CEO of Apple, Tim Cook declared that they have shipped nearly 100m of iPads since they were launched for the first time in April 2010.
At the same time, it was shocking to come across a faster model of 4th generation iPad, which easily overshadowed its previous model launched just a few months ago.
However, proclaims made by Mr. Cook couldn't impress the Wall Street analysts enough and they forecasted that the Q4 iPad shipments will miss expectations.
And they were absolutely correct, where the company was expecting 15m and 16m iPads, the Q4 number concluded at 14m. According to the Average Selling Price (ASP), it was calculated that an estimated $1bn (£622m) as missed revenue.
During the end of June, approximately 17m Q3 were shipped, in comparison to them 14m of Q4 was not a good score, it was a significant drop. Rather, there has been a decline in the growth of iPads since they made their debut in
2010. As per the Quarters after Launch basis, the sales of iPads were more than that of iPhones.
However, Apple Finance Director Peter Oppenheimer, said, "We were happy with the 14 million iPad sales in the quarter. It exceeded our expectations".
