‘New Medical Tape Won’t Hurt or Pain While Being Taken Off’

At times an injury might cause s much of pain after recovery as does the removal of bandages; it is actually hurting and painful, while they are taken off and majority of the times pulls the skin and hair. However, a team of biomedical engineers from MIT and Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston have emerged with a solution to it.

The team has designed a special tape, a new quick release medical tape, which will be as effective as the previous medical tapes, but the only difference will be that it could be taken off without paining and hurting the sufferer.

Taking off bandages have always been a difficult task, whether one takes them off quickly or slowly, it will hurt and will make the sufferer uncomfortable.

Bryan Laulicht and his colleagues, who designed the new tape, emphasized that in a few cases, it can be more than just pain and hurting, it could cause severe injuries, as a few have very soft and weak skin, which is prone to such injuries, especially in case of premature babies.

Researchers said, "Conventional tape is designed to break apart at the point where the tape adhesive meets the skin. A preterm baby's skin often rips easily, so tape itself stays together while the skin tears apart".
