Hurricane Sandy Hints Frequent Storms in Future, Study

Scientists have been claiming that weather is realizing extreme changes and the same is resulting in global warming and disasters like the hurricane recently realized. The report says that all this devastation is man-made.

Sandy's damage was analyzed thoroughly this week, as per the findings, the same calls for deeper look into extreme weather situations. Moreover, Gov. Andrew Cuomo is of the opinion that frequency of such events like hurricane Sandy should be focused upon.

He and many scientists think that more extreme events are possible in future in case the changing weathers are not taken seriously. A step needs to be taken urgently since, 4% more water vapour is held by a warmer atmosphere as compared to the amount held in the 1970s.

The University at Albany's chairman of the Department of Atmospheric and Environmental Sciences Chris Thorncroft has told that if the atmosphere goes on to warm, there is greater risk that the number of vapours continue to increase. The same would mean more clouds, resulting in more rainfall, more heating and hence, more frequency of storms.

"Anyone who says there is not a change in weather patterns is denying reality ... that's a whole political debate that I don't want to get into", Gov. Cuomo was quoted as saying.
