Aamir Khan Initiates Fight against Malnutrition

Actor-producer Mr. Amir Khan has till now been involved in several causes to help the nation and his latest act in the system is his appeal to the health activists to fight back malnutrition hardest and get the country free from the condition.

Reports are confirming that Mr. Khan is pitching to rid the country of malnutrition for which, he has appealed not only the grass root level health activists but also the concerned administration of the country on Monday, to do their whole bit towards the cause and make India, a malnutrition free nation.

"I appeal to the ASHAs, Anganwadi workers, sarpanchs, you are the foot soldiers. I appeal to all of them to take this very seriously and make this movement successful," Mr. Khan said at the launch of a media campaign against malnutrition.

For the knowledge of all, ASHAs or the Accredited Social Health Activists is a group of community health workers that has been appointed by the government to provide assistance in the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) whereas Anganwadi workers are the ones working under the government`s Integrated Child Development Service program as a neighborhood centre for health-care activities like contraceptive counseling and supply, nutrition education and supplementation, and child care.
